Week 5 : Alexandra Popovic

A Mom for 3 gorgeous kids and a very successful Virtual Assistant online, Alexandra Popovic is an Australian born, globe trotter. She has lived around the world and lives, now, in Sydney. She loves writing, and reading. She also loves challenging herself everyday, so she can inspire others like us, around her.

This week, Alexandra Popovic a.k.a @vipvirtualsols, gets the spotlight!

Tell us more about yourself, what do you do? Where you come from? Where are you headed?

I’m a Virtual Assistant (VA) now based in Sydney. I discovered and fell in love with social media about a year ago, and now provide it as a service to my clients along with other aspects of office support virtually. I started my business last year and love it as I get to do something I enjoy that is also very rewarding from home. I’m already developing in a totally new and exciting direction which is a direct result of the connections I have gained from Twitter!

Why Twitter.com?

I love Twitter because, in my former life, I used to be the “Queen of the One-Liners” so the 140 char limit suits me to a tee! It’s quick, easy and fun and it has enabled me to virtually meet and learn from many wonderful tweeps all around the world. More at @vipvirtualsols

Tell us more about your Twittering experience.

I remember before I joined Twitter hearing about it and thinking “Geeez…why don’t these people just get a life!”, and only a few weeks ago I “celebrated” my 20,000th tweet by making a video for my new followers!! (which you can see at the top of the post) he he I can’t even begin to describe how I have benefited both personally and professionally since joining the twitterverse.

How often do you twitter and mostly what for?

I tweet first thing in the mornings and mainly at night, as I find that’s when my twittercrew is on there too, and also the traffic is more interesting than throughout the day when it’s mainly sales, ads or spam!

Any set goals with Twitter?

Definitely not any high “follower” goals, as quality wins over quantity anytime.

Is twitter helping you get your message out in the open?

I don’t know what my “message” is really, aside from having fun! he he I just hope those following and interacting with me stay real, keep their integrity, challenge themselves and see the humour in life every day.

Do you use Facebook? If yes, which has been more effective towards your cause, Twitter or Facebook?

I discovered Facebook around the same time, but Twitter quickly took over! I now use my FB profile for personal connections, and have created a new FB fan page for my business.
